During my time in Brussels I also got a chance to visit my beloved old workplace, World Customs Organization (WCO) Secretariat (HQ).
I and my colleague Alexey Shcheglov, who also is a former WCO Secretariat member, visited and participated in the Capacity Building Committee (CBC).
It was 20 years ago we started the journey of capacity building in the WCO when creating the Capacity Building Directorate and the capacity building strategy.
As the first Director, it was amazing to be back again and very noce to be acknowledged by the new Secretary General Ian Saunders in his opening speech, as well as of the excellent Committee Chair Sigfríður Gunnlaugsdóttir.
This week I have been in Brussels for various international meetings.
It is always special for me to come back to my old home city.
Great week.
