We have a lift-off. The World Customs Organization Technology Conference and Exhibition has started in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
This flagship customs and trade conference has +1300 participants from 117 countries.
In the opening Claudia Regina Thomaz, Under-Secretary of the host Receita Federal, Brazilian Revenue Authority and Ian Saunders, Secretary-General of the World Customs Organization, underlined the importance of this event in the time we live in.
It is time to take the next steps towards the future. We are the first generation that can transform challenges to opportunities using technology, digitalization and data. It is time to move from trusted traders to trusted goods and trusted value chains.
The future is here.
