These days I talk a lot about our digital product passport for goods, the trust badge.
We all know what a passport for travellers means and how we pass borders when arriving at eGates and digital passport readers. It holds our identity, profile, status and historic travellers compliance record. Just like our passport for goods does.
That is why I was happy to see the digital border applied also at Galeão International Airport (GIG) in Rio de Janeiro when leaving Brazil for this time.
I will soon be back! 👍🏻
The World Customs Organization 2024 Technology Conference and Exhibition in Barra de Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil – is over.
We have had some outstanding days with doscussions about the future of customs and trade. What we now know is that customs, bordes and international trade will be digital and smarter going forward.
What a great event this was. super well organized by Ronaldo Feltrin and his Receita Federal (Brazilian Revenue Autjoirty) team. Kudos to Brazilian colleagues and to the WCO Secretariat.
During the week in Rio I had excellent discussions with the WCO, partners, customers, colleagues and friends. We are on our way towards Customs 2.0 and it is digital.
I am very optimistic after this week with the industry coming together to shape a new partnership for the world.
