Maersk is recognized as a leader in Gartner’s magic quadrant, and for the 3rd time in a row in the space of Third Party Logistics (3PL).

I saw some of our leaders posting about it on LinkedIn and there is a nice article on our website on why and how exactly Maersk is right up there on the top-right hand corner.

But what is the Gartner’s magic quadrant and why is it important?

Basically the Magic quadrant is a matrix, with an x-axis and a y-axis much like the classic Ansoff or BCG Matrix but fundamentally different on what they evaluate.

On the x we have “Completeness of Vision” or how holistic and multidimensional the company’s vision is; and on the y, we get “Ability to Execute“, how well the organisation is poised to bring the vision into reality. And thus, it breaks the market into 4 categories: Niche Players, Challengers, Visionaries, and Leaders.

Leaders are the ones who not only are challenging the status quo of the market, but also has the commitment to go through with the challenge.

It is that that time of the year in Scandinavia. The end of springtime.

In the South of Sweden, where I live, this is the time when the traditional yellow fields of rape are in bloom. This brings memories for us of our childhood, the end of school terms, family occasions & the always exiting hope of summer arriving.

I usually joke by saying that our challenge in Scandinavia is that summer for us is only one week, & it is a different week every year. It is not entirely a joke.

Our seasonal changes & long winters mean that the arrival of summer is a blessing. The weather during summer is so important & with daylight 24/7 (for a period of time) – we spend all of our time outdoors. It is like we need to collect & save heat, light & energy for our long winters.

So soon it is time for that week – welcome summer 2024.
