We have spent a few days in our second home in Provence, in the South of France.
This is my place ’beyond the pines’, my retreat, where I relax, read, think and write.
I love it.
Decarbonising logistics is a shared responsibility that requires commitment, investments, and collaboration across the ecosystem!
A crucial challenge is the price gap between fossil and green fuels. This is why we urge the International Maritime Organization (IMO) and its member states to take decisive action and implement a global regulatory framework that will level the playing field.
A regulatory environment is key to ensuring that green fuels become commercially competitive with conventional fuels, so we can accelerate the decarbonisation of our industry.
The success of the energy transition relies on long-term partnerships across the value chain – from fuel providers and technology partners to customers and regulators. No one can do this alone!

Making artificial intelligence work for customs and trade is no longer “whether”, but “when” and “how”.
These questions were at the heart of the discussions held earlier this week at the 4th Meeting of the WCO Data Innovation Hub.
Following the opening remarks by Ricardo Treviño Chapa in which he stressed the vital importance of data and proper data management for customs, presenters spoke about AI-related regulatory compliance, international standards, governance principles and practical implementation of AI tools.
On behalf of A.P. Moller – Maersk and our partner Altana, Alexey Shcheglov from my team was privileged to deliver a joint presentation with Peter Swartz on some of the AI-based tools that our companies have been developing together to facilitate trade and improve trade and customs compliance.
A big thank you to the World Customs Organization and its hard working team led by Politopoulos Dimitris, Joel Choi and Ebenezer Tafili for having created this great platform for exchange and discussions on one of the most important issues of customs modernization.
For us at Maersk it was a great opportunity to meet other AI enthusiasts and learn about the progress the customs and trade community is making to embrace the AI revolution and make good use of it.
What is next? Let us continue our tech discussions in Rio at the WCO Tech Conference where Maersk and Altana will both be present as Gold Sponsors. Find us at booth G7 at the Conference. (https://lnkd.in/eCVK99tt).
