The King turns 74 today

Swedish King Carl XVI Gustaf turns 74 today.

Traditionally, a day when the king is celebrated with a general flag day and salute from Skeppsholmen in Stockholm close to the Royal Palace.

Carl Gustaf has been the Swedish king since 1973.

Together with large sections of the royal family, King Carl Gustaf receive the high guard and the people pays their tribute to the King at the Royal Castle’s outer courtyard.

He is married to Queen Silvia, who has German- Brazilian roots. They have three children, Criwn Princess Victoria, Prince Carl Philip and Princess Madeleine.
