Meeting the EU Commission

Today I am In Brussels for meetings with the European Commission. I have in various positions participated in EU meetings since 1995.

For a number of years I was the Swedish representative in the Customs Policy Group (CPG) overlooking customs in the EU, supervising the development & implementation of the EU unified customs code (UCC).

During recent years I have met EU Commission colleagues representing the private sector, our industry & my company.

I have also been involved in strategic development work over the last years, mike being commissioned to write the Smart Borders 2.0 concept for post-Brexit EU borders & as expert advisor to the EU Wise Persons Group (WÅG) in their work addressing the challenges facing the Customs Union in the future.

I always find it interesting to meet colleagues from the different Directorates of the European Commission, including naturally when seeing top management & experts from DG TAXUD – the Directorate-General Taxation & Customs Union.

In turbolent times like these it is more important than ever that all stakeholders, especially Institutions, Governments & Private Sector, work together to manage the uncertainties of a trade world in massive transformation and disruption.

Together we are strong, change is here & we are ready to lead towards the future.
